Okay so something slightly different, this is a review of the theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!

I’m slightly biased because I have a family member who’s in the show (eeeep) but I genuinely have never seen anything quite like this play! The effects and production is something very special, and not like any other show of this scale in such a long-standing and prestigious theatre.

The critically acclaimed production is most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

The whole production is presented in two parts, which we saw all in one day, but you can also go on two evenings too!

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

I don’t want to give away any of the secrets, so I won’t be spilling and spoilers, but the plot line, staging and set, the acting and the twists and turns make this one of the best shows I’ve seen on the West End!

The show is currently booking to 29 September 2019, and the next ticket release will be in Spring 2019.

I would without a doubt recommend to anyone, whether you have an interest in theatre or not, and whether you have an interest in Harry Potter or not! Luckily I’m a fan of both so it was right up my street. If anyone does want any spoilers or if anyone’s seen the show and wants to discuss send me a message!

Love, Maddie x
